Our History

Established in 1978, Benfield Control Systems, Inc. (BCS) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Benfield Electric Supply Company, Inc.

As a recognized leader in integrating the many aspects of both electrical control systems and power distribution systems, Benfield Control Systems provides the power distribution products and custom designed control systems that meet the demanding needs of the industrial and construction markets.

BCS has an experienced staff of both sales and engineering personnel who have the technical experience to provide you with fast results on quotations, technical information, drawings, and more.

Our facility is staffed with engineers, technicians, and assemblers who design power distribution and electrical control systems suited to your unique business needs and specifications.

We have worked on the World Trade Center Towers, the world’s largest LED screen in Times Square, and a list of other projects such as the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge and wastewater treatment plants.

System Integration

BCS has a UL508A control panel assembly facility and an electrical engineering staff ready to assist with all your automation applications. We can handle a wide variety of electrical control systems and projects, from simple relay panels to more elaborate PLC panels and systems.

BCS will design, fabricate, develop PLC/HMI software, and commission all equipment to assure complete compliance with each customer’s specifications and needs.

Power Distribution Systems

From low voltage to medium voltage application, BCS provides UL891 and UL1558 power distribution systems, prefabricated electrical houses, customized power solutions, mimic panels, and power monitoring systems for industrial and commercial construction projects.

Our engineering services include short circuit coordination and arc flash studies, NYC Advisory Board drawings, NETA testing, value engineering, and knowledge of NEC code. We also provide point-to-point wiring diagrams for installation.

HVAC

BCS provides variable frequency drive systems, combination motor starters, heat trace systems, and fully integrated and customized motor control centers to the mechanical contractors and industrial market.

Our expertise, customer service, and quick delivery have made Benfield Control Systems a leader in providing HVAC solutions.

Critical Power

BCS provides integrated power solutions and electrical control systems for mission critical power systems such as data centers, healthcare facilities, and financial institutions.

We provide PLC operated automatic transfer switchgear with custom HMI screens, UPS systems, redundant systems for Tier II-IV applications, generators, and generator paralleling systems.

Our engineering capabilities include software development for PLC/HMI, on-site commissioning, 24×7 support, and the ability to integrate across multiple manufacturers to provide the most effective solution for our clients.
